But something is being to become possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If Kodi, in you new OpenAtv installation (after restoring settings from another release) starts only from an external device (the device you used to restore settings and flash the new image) you can try to modify the kodi script in \/usr\/bin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this way:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>you can reach your decoder from your PC via terminal, with something like <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>:<strong>~<\/strong>$ ssh root@sf8008.local <\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>if you have more than a partition on your decoder, you have to change your keys every time (each partition has <strong>its own<\/strong> keys), so you have to begin with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>:~$ ssh-keygen -R sf8008.local\n# Host sf8008.local found: line 1\n\/home\/&#91;your-username]\/.ssh\/known_hosts updated.\nOriginal contents retained as \/home\/&#91;your-username]\/.ssh\/known_hosts.old\n:~$ ssh root@sf8008.local\nkf.notifications: Failed to play sound with canberra: File or data not found\nWarning: Permanently added 'sf8008.local' (ED25519) to the list of known hosts.\nroot@sf8008:~# \n\nand then you can do<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>nano \/usr\/bin\/kodi\n\nfind something like\n\n&#91; -d \/media\/mmc ] &amp;&amp; export HOME=\"\/media\/mmc\"\n&#91; -d \/media\/hdd ] &amp;&amp; export HOME=\"\/media\/hdd\"\n\nand replace it with\n\nountpoint -q \/media\/hdd &amp;&amp; export HOME=\"\/media\/hdd\"\nmountpoint -q \/media\/mmc &amp;&amp; export HOME=\"\/media\/mmc\"  <\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><br>in my case, it did the trick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wrong zoom<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To avoid a <strong>wrong zoom<\/strong> and a <strong>wrong position<\/strong> of the resized screen (with a black space on left and part of Kodi screen invisible, impossible to set\/fix), avoid to start <strong>Kodi standalone<\/strong> (in Openatv &#8211; >plungis browser -> Kodi).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fine tuning<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>However there were still <strong>big problems<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>no way to reach a chapter and see that video normally (you can see a very slow video, almost still),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>no way to resume a video from the last position,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>no way to go forward or rewind (using the left  right key).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Today I managed to resolve the first two ones:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>settings &#8211; &gt; player -&gt; adjust display rate -&gt; always<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>settings &#8211; &gt; player -&gt; sync playback -&gt; on<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>settings &#8211; &gt; player -&gt; allow hardware acceleration &#8211; STB -&gt; off<br><br>as you can see in the screenshot below<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" data-id=\"3340\" src=\"https:\/\/localhost\/web\/public_html\/digitalia\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/kodi-in-openatv-7.6-setting-giusti-video-player-1024x576.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/digitalia.culturanuova.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/kodi-in-openatv-7.6-setting-giusti-video-player-1024x576.webp 1024w, https:\/\/digitalia.culturanuova.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/kodi-in-openatv-7.6-setting-giusti-video-player-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/digitalia.culturanuova.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/kodi-in-openatv-7.6-setting-giusti-video-player-768x432.webp 768w, https:\/\/digitalia.culturanuova.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/kodi-in-openatv-7.6-setting-giusti-video-player.webp 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Problems in OpenATV 7.6 can see found in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opena.tv\/viewtopic.php?t=67155\">their forum<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kodi working Very painful to make it working.
